The Spanish Peaks Resort site encompasses approximately 2,500 acres in Big Sky, Montana. The completed development will create a new resort complex that will include a village center, a ski lodge, an 18-hole golf course and clubhouse, single-family residences, estate lots, condominiums, ski lifts, and associated resort facilities. To date we have provided detailed geotechnical recommendations during feasibility stages, for the lodge, ski lifts, an earthen embankment dam, a 3-story clubhouse, six bridges, 26 retreat cabins, a 650,000 gallon water tank, ski lifts, and the golf course.

The lodge is a $100 million, 6-story concrete structure over two basement parking levels. To facilitate the deep excavation for the lodge substructure a 600-ft long, 40-ft deep permanent, tied-back shoring wall was constructed. Treadwell & Rollo played a key role from the preliminary design phase through construction of the shoring wall.
