The Newark, California, Sportsman's Club site, leased from Cargill, was used as a recreational outdoor shooting range and was contaminated with lead pellets and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from clay pigeon debris. Treadwell & Rollo characterized the 30-acre site and prepared and implemented a Remedial Action Work Plan to meet the requirements of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board. Remediation work included removal of surface contamination, on-site treatment of RCRA hazardous waste, and off-site disposal.
For the American Canyon site, our team provided soil removal excavation and off-site disposal services at Cargill's salt production facility. Soil removal included excavation of soil containing lead and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and motor oil, collecting and analyzing verification samples in excavation areas, and disposing of excavated soil at an appropriate landfill.
