1720 MacArthur Boulevard – Altenheim Senior Housing Phase 2

Treadwell & Rollo performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and a geotechnical investigation for the Senior Housing Phase 2 site at 1720 MacArthur Boulevard.  Plans called for demolishing the existing heating plant, infirmary and kitchen/laundry addition.  The new construction would consist of three four-story, wood-framed residential buildings. 

During the course of our geotechnical investigation we noted several site issues, including expansive soil and poorly placed fill.  The building foundations include deepened footings and drilled piers. Our engineers prepared recommendations regarding site preparation, foundation support, and retaining walls.  We also addressed slab-on-grade floors, temporary slopes, pavement and seismic design.
