Treadwell & Rollo performed the geotechnical investigation for Building 20 at the new UCSF Campus Housing, a site that provides housing for more than 750 UCSF students, postdoctoral scholars and their families. The project included four buildings surrounding an at-grade courtyard, three mid-rise buildings of seven to ten stories, and one 15-story high-rise.
We investigated subsurface soil and groundwater conditions and developed recommendations for geotechnical design criteria, as well as site-specific seismic spectra and time histories. Our engineers provided geotechnical construction observation services, including installation observation of 900+ piles. In addition, Treadwell & Rollo installed inclinometers in indicator piles to evaluate pile movements after removal of surcharge fill and performed lateral pile load tests to evaluate the effects of predrilling on the lateral capacity of the piles.
