Cabrillo College Student Services Building

Treadwell & Rollo provided geotechnical engineering services during design of the Cabrillo College Student Services Building.  The project consisted of a two-story main structure and two kiosk structures constructed within an excavated area retained by permanent soil-nail walls. 

The main structure houses a bookstore, parking area, Administration and Student Services Offices, as well as a plaza.  The kiosk structures are north of the main structure on the west and east sides of the site.

Treadwell & Rollo reviewed available surface information and developed design recommendations for the project team’s decision to use drilled piers. An engineer from Treadwell & Rollo was on site during pier installation to observe subsurface materials in the drilled holes and to check that the piers are installed in accordance with specifications.
