Sunnyvale Town Center Mall was redeveloped for retail, commercial and residential use. Treadwell & Rollo provided environmental services, evaluating subsurface soil gas, soil and groundwater. We also provided remediation services and assisted in obtaining San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board regulatory assessment oversight and cleanup for a fast-track investigation because of PCE beneath the site.
We designed and installed a remediation system that includes soil vapor extraction and application of in-situ chemical oxidation and enhanced biodegradation (vegetable oil) in groundwater.
Our geotechnical services included performing an investigation and providing recommendations regarding foundations for new structural elements, site seismicity and seismic hazards. Our recommendations also addressed construction considerations, Uniform Building Code soil profile type and near-source coefficients. We are currently providing ongoing geotechnical observation, and testing services during construction.
